This budget allocates funds for the processing and investigation of unlawful discrimination, including employment and housing discrimination, and for monitoring contractor compliance with State purchasing requirements. The Department enforces nondiscrimination laws and houses the Division on Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing. The Civil Rights budget also includes support for three Michigan museums and additional discrimination and civil rights-adjacent programming.
